  • The Cheyenne Carriage Collection proudly cares for the historic carriages featured in the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ parades and showcased in the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum.

    We are excited to partner with local businesses and organizations who want to help share these incredible pieces of Western history with the community.

    This application allows you to request a one-year loan of a carriage for offsite display.

    To participate, borrowers must be businesses or organizations and agree to the Collection’s display and care guidelines.

  • Terms and Conditions for Offsite Carriage Use

  • To share this historic vehicle collection with the community and support public appreciation for its preservation, the Cheyenne Carriage Collection allows approved businesses and organizations to display select vehicles offsite. All borrowers must adhere to the following guidelines:

    Eligibility & Display Requirements

    • Carriages may be loaned only to businesses or organizations, not individuals.
    • All vehicles must be displayed indoors in an environmentally controlled space (heated at minimum).
    • Displays must be in locations clearly visible to the public and staff.
    • The display area must be secured after regular business hours.
    • The borrower must provide a physical barrier or protective arrangement that prevents:
      • Climbing into vehicles
      • Handling or tampering with components
      • Theft or vandalism
    • All carriages must be secured to prevent accidental rolling.

    Care & Maintenance

    • The Cheyenne Carriage Collection will provide interpretive signage or materials.
    • Borrowers are responsible for basic cleaning and daily care:
      • Light dusting of the exterior is permitted.
    • Borrowers may not:
      • Use commercial cleaners or polishes
      • Vacuum or clean interior components
    • If deeper cleaning is needed, arrangements will be made with Collection staff.

    Insurance Requirements

    Borrowers must provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) showing liability coverage of:

    • $1,000,000 per occurrence
    • $2,000,000 general aggregate

    The COI must: 

    • Name Cheyenne Frontier Days, Inc. as Additional Insured
    • Include the carriage number and description listed in the loan agreement
    • Include the insurance company name, agent name, policy number, and expiration date

    Damage, Safety & Inspections

    • Borrowers must notify the Cheyenne Carriage Collection immediately if damage occurs.
    • Borrowers must take steps to prevent recurrence of any damaging circumstance.
    • The Collection reserves the right to inspect the carriage at any time with one week’s notice.

    Loan Term & Retrieval

    • Standard loan period is one calendar year.
    • Loans may be renewed annually upon mutual agreement.
    • At the end of the loan term, unless renewed, the carriage and all interpretive materials must be returned to the Collection.
    • The Collection may retrieve a carriage at any time, for any reason, with one week’s notice.
    • If a vehicle becomes unsafe, improperly displayed, or exposed to risk, the Collection may remove it immediately and may substitute another suitable carriage if appropriate.
