Showtime Volunteer Policies & Expectations
Volunteer Eligibility
Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate
Showtime Volunteer assignments are based on event operational needs and scheduling availability
2026 Volunteer Opportunities & Duties
Showtime Volunteers support a variety of guest-facing and operational roles throughout Frontier Park, including:
- Greeting and welcoming guests
- Ticket scanning and entry assistance
- Providing directions and general event information
- Assisting with guest flow and wayfinding
- Supporting event operations staff with daily event needs
- Assisting with temporary support assignments during the show as needed
These roles provide a fun and unique opportunity to experience the excitement, entertainment, and tradition of Cheyenne Frontier Days while interacting with guests from across the country and around the world.
Showtime Volunteers are not assigned to a traditional CFD committee during participation in the program. However, volunteers interested in becoming more involved with CFD in the future may have opportunities to explore committee participation at a later date.
Access & Volunteer Credentials
Showtime Volunteer credentials are provided to support volunteer assignments and allow volunteers to enjoy and experience Frontier Park throughout the event.
Volunteer credentials provide access to:
- Assigned volunteer work locations
- Volunteer check-in areas
- General public areas of Frontier Park
- Staff Park & Ride parking and shuttle access during the event
- Frontier Park admission throughout the week
Volunteers will also receive an official Showtime Volunteer credential identifying them as part of the CFD volunteer team.
Volunteer Conduct & Expectations
All Showtime Volunteers are expected to help create a positive, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for guests, volunteers, contestants, staff, and fellow team members throughout Cheyenne Frontier Days.
Volunteers are expected to:
- Maintain a positive attitude and provide a welcoming experience for all guests
- Follow instructions provided by CFD staff, volunteer coordinators, and committee leadership
- Remain at assigned volunteer locations unless directed otherwise
- Treat guests, volunteers, contestants, and staff with courtesy and respect
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and energetic attitude while interacting with the public
- Arrive on time and check in prior to the start of assigned shifts
- Wear appropriate attire and volunteer credentials while on duty
While volunteering, individuals will not:
- Consume alcohol or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs immediately prior to or while on duty
- Use inappropriate, offensive, or disruptive language or behavior
Volunteers are an important part of the CFD team and will always have the support of CFD staff, security personnel, and emergency responders during the event. In any medical, safety, or emergency situation, volunteers should promptly notify CFD staff or emergency personnel so the appropriate teams can respond and provide assistance.
Participation in the Showtime Volunteer Program is an exciting opportunity to be part of the CFD team and contribute to the success of one of the most iconic events in the West. Cheyenne Frontier Days reserves the right to reassign or remove volunteers whose conduct does not align with these expectations or impacts safe and professional event operations.
